I have a dietary restriction, can I eat Trail Butter?
Nut allergies: All versions of Trail Butter Nut Butter Blends are peanut free. Please see the individual product pages for a full list of ingredients for each flavour.
Gluten-Free: Trail Butter is inherently gluten-free and made in a gluten-free facility. While we are in the process of receiving our gluten-free certification, we recommend that those extremely sensitive to gluten use caution until we are certified.
Vegan: Our Maple Sea Salt Nut Butter Blend is currently our only vegan flavour. The other flavours use clover honey and are therefore not strictly vegan.
Paleo-friendly: Our use of sunflower lecithin (a natural, plant-based emulsifier) means that Trail Butter cannot be certified Paleo, but it does meet all other Paleo diet requirements and is considered Paleo-friendly by official diet guidelines.
Dairy-free: The Maple Sea Salt and Dark Chocolate Espresso Nut Butter Blends are both dairy free. The Cranberry Sunflower Seed Nut Butter Blend contains milk chocolate chips which may contain dairy.
Trail Butter is also Soy-Free and Vegetarian.
Does Trail Butter contain refined sugar or High Fructose Corn Syrup?
A big ‘NO’ on the high fructose corn syrup! Trail Butter is a 100% natural product sweetened predominantly with clover honey and maple syrup. Regarding processed sugars, our Cranberries & Sunflower Blend uses a high-quality semi-sweet chocolate that contains dextrose, as well as cranberries sweetened by natural sugar. The dark chocolate used in our Dark Chocolate & Coffee blend is sweetened by a natural cane sugar.
How many calories does a serving of Trail Butter contain? And fat?
A standard 2 tablespoon serving contains 190 calories. Each flavour contains 16-17 grams of fat per serving. It’s the good kind of fat, that your body needs to remain balanced. None of our flavours contain “trans fats.”
