Ack! You just opened your bag and can’t find the scoop, not to fear, we’ve got you covered.
A standard serving is 27g, which equates to 0.95oz or 2.4 tablespoons. Each scoop of Endurance Fuel is 100 calories, 25g carbs and 300mg salt and each scoop of Rebuild Recovery is 120 calories, 5g protein and 20g carbs.
Endurance Fuel
We recommend consuming one single serving packet (27g), mixed with 24oz (about 710ml) of water per hour of activity. Just pour, shake and go. Adjust your intake to meet your personal calorie needs and use hunger as a guide; if you feel hungry, increase your calories.
Rebuild Recovery
We recommend consuming one single serving packet (27g), mixed with 16oz (about 500ml) of water within 30 minutes after exercise, to take advantage of your body’s ability to efficiently replenish glycogen stores during this time window. Just pour, shake and recover. For longer or more intense workouts, follow with a second serving of Rebuild in the next 30 minutes.
Your body stores energy in the form of glycogen (sugar) which has enough to get you through about an hour of exercise. Once it runs out, your blood sugar plummets and you bonk hard, so to avoid the crash, you need to put sugar back into your bloodstream.
Tailwind products contain simple sugars (dextrose and sucrose) as their first ingredients, as they go straight into your bloodstream to replenish glycogen stores and prevent you from crashing or having an upset stomach during or after exercise.
Most sports fuel and recovery products contain maltodextrin, a complex chain of sugar, which is difficult for the body to digest and often causes GI issues. Your body runs on glucose and it's important to replenish your glycogen stores with simple sugar during and after exercise.
Tailwind products have a shelf life of about three years.
Once added to water, a good rule of thumb is to treat Endurance Fuel and Rebuild Recovery like juice. After mixing, Tailwind products taste best if consumed within a day, and if mixed and stored in the fridge, they will stay fresh for about a week.
You will know when you have let it hang around in your bottle too long, it will smell a little bit funky.
