Who are Moggans?

Moggans of Scotland, was founded in 2020.

Our socks and brand mission "all day comfort, inspired by nature, made to endure" maintains our focus.

Moggans was founded by Alistair Crawford (Edinburgh) with the sole focus of producing high quality products, a core focus on comfort, nature and making products to last.  As important was making goods as locally as possible minimising our carbon footprint, thus we are manufacturing in Europe and Scotland.

Moggans running socks are made from superfine Merino wool and recycled polyamide to optimise the required structures. Our products are rigorously tested in the Pentland Hills just outside Edinburgh and the Cairngorms to ensure they withstand the demands of the notorious Scottish & UK climate.

Where Moggans wins vs other brands:

  • Moggans are made with 60%+ superfine merino wool yarn vs around 35/40% in all other main running sock brands.
  • Moggans socks are made from mulesing-free yarn and are traceable. We care about animal welfare. Other brands use a mix of yarn which is non-traceable.
  • We partner with three family run businesses in Scotland and Europe, we manufacture as locally as possible utilising our partners +100 years expert machine knowledge.

Our run ambassadors are at the core of the Moggans testing, If our socks are good enough and trusted by for our high achieving ambassadors then there is good enough reason for you to give them a go:
