We are proud to be supporting PTSD UK in 2022.

We are proud to be supporting PTSD UK in 2022.

PTSD UK is the only charity in the UK dedicated to raising awareness of post-traumatic stress disorder – no matter the trauma that caused it. We believe that supportive and reliable knowledge really is power when it comes to PTSD. If you understand the types of trauma that can cause PTSD, the physical, mental and emotional symptoms that are experienced, and, most importantly, the treatments that can help you, then you’ll be able to start down the path to recovery when you’re ready.

Our mission is to provide supportive, reliable, high-quality and easy-to-understand resources to educate, help empower and inspire resilience in everyone affected by PTSD, to help them work towards successful, sustained recovery. We campaign to raise awareness of the condition, reach out to high-risk communities, help shape UK healthcare policies, and give everyone the belief that ‘Tomorrow CAN be a new day’.

You can find out more about what we do to achieve our mission here.

When people take part in endurance events for PTSD UK, their fundraising allows us to do work that is truly life-changing for people affected by PTSD. In addition – our eye catching sports kit helps raise awareness of the condition, and our existence too.

In addition, exercise, and particularly running has been found to help ease the symptoms of PTSD – so many of our supporters find that their training has a positive impact on them even more directly that they would have expected.

We have places for people to join Team PTSD UK in a variety of events throughout the year such as Great North Run, Great North Swim, London Landmarks Half Marathon, London to Brighton Bike Ride, and many Ultra challenges up and down the length of the UK.

We’re so incredibly grateful to the team at XMiles who’ve offered to supply us with some packs for our fundraising supporters – to help them train, recover and find the energy they need for the big day!
