
High-Protein Snack Recipes
Are you looking to top up your protein intake? Or do you want just a protein filled sweet treat to snack on during those recovery, easy days? Emma (@runwith_emma) from our ambassador team, has released two recipes feature Protein Rebel Recover powder.
"My name is Emma. I am an avid runner from the Rhondda Valley in South Wales.
In 2017 after almost losing my life to sepsis. I ran my first half marathon in 2018 and went on to complete 3 marathons and now training for my Snowdonia ultra marathon in July.
Running has become an activity that has saved me. Being part of a supportive community. Running gives a feeling that your part of something. Allows you to escape and appreciate the beautiful surroundings of your hometown. Though there has been times I think to myself why am I doing this. The feeling you get after completing a race is surreal. You just can’t beat it."
Vegan Protein Chocolate Balls
Ingredients for Vegan Balls:
- 1 banana (mashed)
- 57g sunflower butter
- 64g Protein Rebel - Recover
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp water
Ingredients for Chocolate Coating:
- Dark Chocolate (Vegan)
- 2 tsp of Biscoff smooth spread
Equipment:
- Whisk (Optional)
- Baking Tray / Plate
- Melting Bowl (for Biscoff Spread)
Instructions:
- Mix all ingredients together with your hands or whisk.
- Once you have the dough like texture, roll them into balls. Put in the freezer whilst doing the coating.
- Melt the dark chocolate then dip the fillings in one at a time. I then put them on a lined baking sheet and back in the fridge.
- Once they have dried, I then melted the Biscoff spread and poured over the top (just for decor I did go a bit wild lol)
These are perfect for a lunch-time protein top-up after those long sessions (preferably a Monday treat, after my Sunday long run). Easy to make and low sugar too!
Lotus Biscoff Protein Recovery Shake
Ingredients for Recovery Shake:
- Ice
- Protein Rebel - Recover
- Almond Milk
- Biscoff Smooth Spread
Instructions:
- Mix all ingredients inside any blender you own.
- Melt some Biscoff smooth spread, then grab your favourite glass and pour it around (just for decoration)
- Fill the glass with the protein shake you blended earlier
- Add coconut whipped cream
This is the perfect iced protein recovery drink after a long summer's day running, cycling or all out adventuring.
