Sustainability at XMiles

in partnership with Run Legacy

In today’s ever evolving world, sustainability is a non-negotiable for business success and is paving the way to a brighter future for many generations to come. Here at XMiles, we have been working hard internally and alongside Run Legacy to improve sustainability.

Take a look below at what we do to make a difference:

RECYCLABLE DELIVERY BOXES

Our boxes are supplied by PackHelp which is an FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Certified company are 100% recyclable.

This certification ensures that PackHelp supports sustainable forest management, benefiting smallholders and indigenous communities in forest regions. Our boxes are 100% recyclable, reflecting our commitment to reducing ‎environmental impact.

‎Additionally, PackHelp's involvement in the One Tree Planted Scheme has contributed to planting over 19,480 trees.

PACKAGING MATERIALS

Our other packaging materials are sourced from RAJA who are FSC Certified, these materials are 100% fully recyclable.

RAJA also has many objectives towards limiting CO2 emissions as well as many action programmes such as the RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation supports 12 projects for Women & the Environment which is funded through a portion of their sales revenue.

REUSE OF PACKAGING MATERIALS

To minimise waste, we ensure all packaging materials from deliveries are reused in your orders. This practice helps us reduce the demand for new materials and promotes a circular economy.

SUSTAINABLE COURIER SCHEMES

We work closely with both Royal Mail and DPD to deliver your orders straight to your door. Both couriers have great initiatives to improve their sustainability and help the environment.

Royal Mail’s Net Zero Delivery Scheme is committed to achieving net zero emissions and power the whole fleet using alternative fuels by 2040, as well as having a stronger focus on responsible consumption and increasing recycling.

DPD’s Green Initiative also has aims to achieve net zero emissions by increasing the number of deliveries that are all-electric, as well as maintaining their 100% score for waste avoiding landfills by filtering through processes such as re-using and recycling waste.

CARDBOARD RECYCLING BINS

We have two large cardboard recycling bins at our headquarters to ensure that any boxes not reused for large orders are recycled. This initiative helps us manage our waste responsibly and reduce our carbon footprint.

REUSABLE SOFT & GEL FLASKS

We design and produce reusable soft flasks and gel flasks to minimise packaging waste. These flasks allow you to purchase multi-serving tubs or drink mixes and refill them as needed, significantly reducing single-use packaging.

STAFF BIKE STORAGE AREA

To encourage sustainable commuting, we provide a bike storage area at our headquarters for staff who prefer to cycle to work. This initiative promotes a healthier lifestyle and reduces our overall carbon emissions.

USING SHOPIFY

Shopify builds for sustainable success from the core out, bringing businesses and their customers together in the fight against climate change.

Every time a customer places an order using Shop Pay, Shopify funds carbon removal to counteract the impact on the planet at no extra cost.

In addition, Shopify purchases carbon removal to eliminate the shipping emissions from every single order placed during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping weekend. In 2020 and 2021, they offset a combined total of more than 120,000 tonnes of carbon.
