So, I just applied that idea to sunglasses. I wanted them to be affordable, if you lost them or broke them, no big deal. The Knockaround name seemed like a natural fit—like, I’m just going to knock around this pair of sunglasses.”

Knockaround was founded in 2005 by Ace during his time as a graduate art student at the University of California, San Diego.

Merging the classic East Coast prep style of his Virginia upbringing, his interest in design and fashion, and a newfound love for the perpetually sunny, laid-back lifestyle of Southern California, Ace created a company centered around a sunglasses line that was both practical and stylish.

HOW CAN I TAKE CARE OF MY KNOCKAROUND SHADES?

To get the most out of your Knockarounds, we recommend the following:

Wash and/or rinse the sunglasses after they have been exposed to salt or pool water.
Wipe your Knockaround sunglasses after every use.
Keep your shades in the protective sleeve while not being used.

ARE KNOCKAROUND SUNGLASSES FDA APPROVED AND/OR IMPACT RESISTANT?

Yup! Knockaround sunglasses are FDA approved impact resistant.

DO KNOCKAROUND SHADES OFFER UV PROTECTION?

All Knockaround sunglasses offer full UV400 protection which covers both the UVA and UVB spectrum. Your Knocks will be sure to keep you looking fresh while protecting your eyes against harmful UV rays.
