Luchos was born from a desire to create the ideal energy block for modern cyclists and runners; to find a natural alternative to energy drinks and gels ladened with additives, tasted good, actually worked and didn’t cause the digestion problems that have plagued cyclists and athletes throughout the world.
Luchos are inspired by Colombian bocadillos, a popular block made from natural guava pulp, a noted superfruit packed with nutrition and beneficial minerals. They have long been a treasured secret for Colombian cyclists, who have used them in competitive tournaments like the Tour de France for over 50 years.
Luchos is easy to digest, packed full of natural ingredients. Our blocks are wrapped in a 100% compostable Bijao leaf - which means you can just discard it whilst out in nature, allowing for real convenience during exercise, as well as helping reduce the impact we all have on the environment and the trails we value.

Lucho Dillitos is the brand name for our Colombian bocadillo. Bocadillo means sandwich in Spanish but in Colombian it refers to a tasty block of guava paste. These bocadillo have been a traditional ‘energy bar’ in the South American country for generations. Lucho Dillitos are manufactured in Colombia, with no additives, flavours or preservatives.
Lucho Dillitos are essentially a preserve, much like jam. They do not go off under normal storage conditions. We put a year from manufacture as the sell by date, the date is on the label on the box, but they are edible past this time. As they get older they will slowly get harder and start to dry out.
Yes they are. Our range of 3 flavours of bocadillo’s only have 4 ingredients, guava and sugar are in all of them and the with raspberry also has raspberry and with coffee also has coffee.
Our test market was Hong Kong, with temperatures over 30ºC and 90% humidity. Even if the leaf wrapper gets a bit wet the Bocadillo will remain intact.
Although you are unlikely to come to any harm, we recommend that you don’t eat the leaf it comes wrapped in.
