TRUEFUELS • PERFORMANCE THERMOREGULATION

CoreCtrl™

Heat should be a condition you train and perform in, not a limit you hit.

CoreCtrl™ is designed to support your body’s natural thermoregulation, the physiological system that allows you to shed heat during training and racing.

Hydration and electrolytes replace what you lose. Thermoregulation determines how effectively your body can dissipate heat under load. CoreCtrl™ works alongside hydration to support this system when conditions get hot.

Why it matters

During exercise, approximately 75 to 80% of energy is released as heat. If heat production exceeds your ability to dissipate it, performance becomes constrained by protective physiological limits.

Increase sweat response

  • Enhances sweat gland activation for earlier cooling onset.
  • Supports cooling when intensity rises.
  • Best used when training or racing in the heat.

Improve evaporative heat loss

  • Up to +27% evaporative cooling efficiency (Peel et al., 2024).
  • Helps sweat evaporate more effectively.
  • Especially relevant when humidity is high.

Reduce internal heat storage

  • Approx. 72% less heat accumulation during exercise in heat.
  • Supports staying in physiological control.
  • Complements hydration, not replacing it.

Extend sustainable performance

  • Approx. 10% longer time to exhaustion in hot conditions.
  • Helps sustain intensity for longer.
  • Built for longer, hotter race days.

How CoreCtrl™ works

Hydration and electrolytes replace what you lose. Thermoregulation is the system that determines how effectively your body can shed heat under load.

CoreCtrl™ supports thermoregulation by enhancing sweat gland activation, improving evaporative cooling efficiency, and slowing internal heat accumulation during exercise in the heat.

Its patent-pending formulation combines taurine, piperine, and a balanced electrolyte profile, selected for complementary roles in supporting the body’s cooling mechanisms.

Why heat steals control

During exercise, only around 20 to 25% of energy becomes mechanical work. The remainder is released as heat. When heat production exceeds heat loss, your body caps performance to protect you.

What happens as core temperature rises

  • Central motor drive reduces: output is downregulated.
  • Cardiovascular strain: blood is redirected to the skin.
  • Fuel accelerates: carbohydrate use rises, fatigue comes sooner.
  • Effort ceiling: pace, power and decision-making degrade.

This is loss of physiological control, not failure.

When environmental heat compounds it

  • Optimal: 10 to 18°C
  • Impairment: low 20s°C
  • Critical: above 25°C plus humidity
  • Severe: above 30°C often needs support

Humidity reduces evaporation. Sweat cannot evaporate, so heat storage accelerates, even with good hydration.

Electrolytes are cooling co-factors

Sweat is your primary cooling tool, and electrolytes help that system function.

  • Sodium: plasma volume and sweat production
  • Potassium: nerve and muscle function
  • Magnesium: neuromuscular control
  • Calcium: sweat gland function and contraction

CoreCtrl™ combines taurine, piperine, and electrolytes in a patent-pending formulation.

It was 2010, and I was competing in the World Triathlon Series event in London, my home race. Halfway through the run, everything felt unnaturally difficult. With 500 metres remaining, it was just the two of us. Then, nothing. A complete blackout. I woke up in a hospital bed with my core temperature above 41°C. That was my first experience with exertional heat stroke.
