The White Star Running team staged another fantastic event in Sydling St.Nicholas, Dorset for the Giants Head marathon, Sydling Hill and Bell races!

Over Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th June the White Star Running bandwagon again rolled into the beautiful Dorset village of Sydling St.Nicholas. With fantastic support from the WI and villagers the village hosted a weekend of races, barn dancing, fine food and drink.
With runners camping from Friday evening the races started Saturday morning first the marathon and then the 10k ish hill race, both brutal races over the hills of Dorset but runners rewarded with stunning views to take away some of the pain. I think all would agree this is probably the toughest marathon in the White Star Running calendar!
And the Sunday saw tired bodies and a few fresh juniors tackle the Bell race, a amazing scene of barefoot running doing a ballet warmup on the village green before running to collect their trainers and charging (well some anyway) up a mile of hill before being set a challenge by the WSR team. Some were asked to tell jokes and sing while others were made to hit the deck for press ups and squats before collecting their unique cow bell medal and charging back down to the finish.
The noise from those bells will be around in many races to come!
