Maurten fuelled athlete Jan Frodeno recorded back to back Kona wins in 2015, 2016 and is back in Kona to attempt to win back his crown as World Champion.

The main contending brits in the mens pro race feature David McNamee, who finished third in Kona over the the past two years, and we see the debut  Alistair Brownlee. Joe Skipper is also back having finished seventh in 2018.

In the ladies pro race the Daniela Ryf will be back to defend her crown.

For the brits Lucy Charles-Barclay, second in both 2017 and 2018 returns, Kona debutant Kim Morrison. 9th last year in Hawaii Corinne Abraham and Susie Cheetham returns 26th last year previously recording two 6th place finishes.

Race day live coverage is due to begin from around 6:10 a.m. local time (5:10 p.m. UK time) –  on Saturday 13th October, in the lead up to the start of the Pro races at 6:25 a.m. local time (5:25 p.m. UK time).
