2021 - The Roundup

2021 has been an excellent year for the Endurance Fuelled team, with record breaking days, personal bests smashed out the park and so much more, we thought we’d wrap it all up inside this article.

We kicked off 2021 by posting Carla Molinaro's Nutrition for her 100km World Record Attempt at the Hoka One One Project Carbon X 2 event on our YouTube. Carla detailed all her nutrition she used to complete her 100km race. From OTE Super Carbs to Nuun Hydration Tablets.

Ambassador Team.

Carla was part of our Ambassador Team for 2021. This was a team of 25+ athletes who all grew as athletes, developing their presence within the scene using our audience as an outlet to grow and share their races and experiences. We have taken out some of our favourite articles submitted by Ambassadors below:

Jack Gammon – Journey to UTMB: This one of my (Matt) personal favourites. Jack’s style of writing is so interesting, and his 10-part series gets you so hooked from the start to the end of his journey.

Bethan Male – South Downs 100k Winner: Bethan’s win at the South Downs 100k made for an excellent story. She is an excellent athlete who has continued with XMiles into 2022, with our brand-new Athlete Team.

"I really enjoyed the UK100K. It’s my first race in a long time due to the pandemic so it was great to be part of such a well organised event"

Samantha Amend – Track 100 Race Winner: Saturday 24th April at the Centurion Track 100, Samantha beat the 100-mile course record by coming in at a blitzing time of 14:34:03. Read through Sam’s fuel for the day, and why nutrition really matters.

Damian Carr – India Open 24 Hour Winner: Damian won the 24 hour open race in India during December 2021. Damian is continuing as an athlete for us into 2022, and has plans to join Team GB in their 24-hour events.

Pictured above is the ammount of fuel Damian used for his 24 hour run. Wow!

Learn More About Nutrition.

Our team broke records smashed personal bests and achieved more than they aimed for. This is the main reason why if you haven’t considered really improving on your fuelling, then you should take it up. We have created our ‘XPlained’ series just for this, so look through the real reasons you should fuel:

Why Caffeine? | Why Carbohydrates? | Why Electrolytes?

New Brands.

We didn’t just have new articles, we also introduced new brands, including:

Hammer Nutrition: This endurance sports nutrition company was founded in the USA in 1987 by Brian Frank. Hammer Nutrition provides unparalleled products, knowledge and service to health-conscious athletes all over the world.

COROS: Combining high-grade hardware with innovative technology to provide endurance athletes with high quality versatile GPS Sports watches. Offering all the best features from a GPS Sports Watch along with the functionality of a regular Smart Watch, COROS offers features such as phone notifications, Caller ID, Sleep Tracking, Recovery Time and Fitness Level analysis.

HALO Hydration: HALO gives you the vitamins and minerals your body craves in a delicious, low-calorie hydration mix sachet formulated with ionic electrolytes. HALO defeats dehydration by hydrating 5 times faster than water alone.

Protein Rebel: Helps you to run faster, lift more, swim further and cycle longer. They do that by providing you with the right sports nutrition with a focus on protein.

Stance Europe: All run socks created by Stance involve Feel360. This is a new proprietary material which reacts with your foot to create the most comfortable atmosphere for your feet, no matter what you chuck at them.

Oofos: Revolutionary foam technology combined with a biomechanically engineered footbed. We’re proud to bring you OOFOS... footwear that can truly make your hard-working feet and body feel better.

And finally, we launched Mulebar as an exclusive brand to the XMiles family. Joining Spring Energy, SNB, Huma Energy and Unived.

So, that about sums up our brilliant year. Let us know how your 2021 went by Tweeting us @xmilesuk!
